2008 Rides & Events

November

  • November 1, Saturday - Play day and potluck at John & Hallie McFadden's arena at 11:00 a.m.  This is going to be a lot of fun!  Games include:  Potato game, Feed Sack Game, Banana Bending, Old Clothes Race, Guess What Game, Flag Competition, Walking Race, Wheelbarrow Race, Egg and Spoon Race, and Saddle/Bareback Dollar Race.  Bring a dish to share and your own plates and eating utensils.  Crockpots can be plugged in inside the garage and we can use a refrigerator in the garage for cold food.
     
  • November 8, Saturday - Trail head is at mile marker 12 on Sandia Crest Road, lead by Diana Wagner.  Meet at Dairy Queen in Edgewood at 10:00 a.m.
     
  • November 15, Saturday - Chinchonte Ride and BBQ afterward.  This ride is at Martha's ranch near Chilili.  Leave Dairy Queen at 9:30 a.m.  Approximately 3 hour ride guided by Willow and/or Hallie.  Willow will be making chili stew and cornbread - everyone else please bring a side dish.  There will be a campfire.  The ride will involve lots of winding around trees and bushes, not good for ponying.  There are rocky spots - bring boots for unshod horses if they are not used to going on rocky terrain.
     
  • November 16, Sunday - "Mash the Mulch" (ride the equestrian trail? along Route 66) lead by Clark & Marsha McDuell.  Meet at Coldwell Banker at 1:30 pm.
     
  • FALL GONZALES RANCH RIDE*: Saturday, November 22.  Leaves Moriarty park at 7;30 am sharp. Snacks and water will be provided, please pack a lunch. Kids 8-18 are free, Adults are a nominal $30.00.  Rough and rocky terrain, shoes required. Please no children under8 and no ponying.  Contact Connie before November 10th to reserve your spot on this wonderful scenic up to 6hr ride. This promises to be worth the trip as the last fall ride at the ranch. Call Connie at: 505-554-6073.  Proceeds to benefit Hatley's youth farm. Thank you for your support. Connie
     
  • November 29, Saturday - "Turkey Hunt" and potluck at Hallie and John McFadden's arena at 11:00 a.m.  Bring a dish to share and your own plates and eating utensils.  Crockpots can be plugged in inside the garage and we can use a refrigerator in the garage for cold food.

December

  • December 1, Sunday - Broom Ball at Hallie and John McFadden's arena at 1:00 p.m.
